Discover Downtown Businesses Bringing Healthy Options to Our Community
Veggie Rebellion
5717 W. Glendale Avenue • 602-888-1265 • veggierebellion.com Daily 9:00 a.m. -9:00 p.m.
Arizona’s only vegan grocery store is right in our own downtown! This one-of-a-kind grocery store is 100 percent vegan, which means everything in the store is free of animal-derived ingredients and never tested on animals. Owners Sandra and Dylan McKee have followed the vegan lifestyle for 14 and five years, respectively. They live in the West Valley and knew a vegan grocery store was needed in the Phoenix area and decided to make Glendale their desired location. After a year of mapping out their business plan and working out the details, they opened their store in February 2018. Since then, shoppers have come not only from Glendale and the West Valley but throughout Arizona as well as California, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania and even Canada. Sandra and Dylan welcome pop-up shops to their store. These vendors offer vegan selections ranging from cupcakes to juice smoothies. Soon there will be cooking demos, gardening classes, talks from authors, chefs and other special guests as well as a social club where they will host mixers, movies and game nights. Check out Veggie Rebellion’s Facebook page for a list of upcoming pop-ups and events. Remember when you shop there, bring your own recycle grocery bags!
