PUSD Launches Committee to Study Facility Use

Peoria Unified School District launched a Facility Utilization Committee.
The committee is charged with evaluating “enrollment, financial and operations data to identify district school(s) that may have an opportunity for repurposing or facility modification.”
The committee members:
• Trina Berg, teacher, Ironwood High School.
• Kacie Franklin, parent.
• Jennifer Harper, teacher, Marshall Ranch Elementary School.
• Robert Heidt, CEO of Glendale Chamber of Commerce.
• Scott Hollabough, principal, Centennial High School.
• Dawn Kennedy, teacher, Foothills Fine Arts Academy.
• Kelli Kincaid, city of Peoria Neighborhood and Human Services.
• Trent Morris, parent.
• John Nitchke, principal, Santa Fe Elementary School.
• Matt Palmer, parent.
• Christian Williams, community member.
The committee’s first meeting will be Dec. 15, with additional meetings January through May.
At the Dec. 10 PUSD board meeting, a presentation will be made showing the district has about 2,000 less students this year, compared to last year.
