Preschool & Childcare
Desert Heights Preschool: Desert Heights Private Preschool opened in 2000, providing the city of Glendale with a safe, nurturing learning environment for children pre-kindergarten. Desert Heights Private Preschool promotes academic excellence, integrity of character, and social awareness in each individual student.
Jefferson Traditional Beginnings: Jefferson Traditional Beginnings is partnered with Jefferson Preparatory High School to allow high school students with the opportunity to work with preschool children and gain practicum experience in their child development classes. In turn, children at Jefferson Traditional Beginnings are challenged to achieve the highest standards in their studies, in their play and in their character.
Tots Unlimited: Mark Werber opened Tots Unlimited 16 years ago with two locations in Glendale. In both childcare and preschool Mark stays true to their motto, “We Are All about the Children. Everything we do, every decision we make, is based on what’s best for the child.”
Camelback Academy: Camelback Academy is a Kindergarten through 8th grade Charter School, the principal, Alicia Raj ensure the students receive a high quality education in a safe environment that promotes character development, and enthusiastic, lifelong learning through a cooperative relationship with parents, students, and the community.
Desert Heights Charter School: Desert Heights Charter school opened with three locations in Glendale. They opened a preschool, charter school, and preparatory academy. The president, Mark Jiles strives to honor the core values, high expectations for student success, diversity in the community, positive relationships with all stakeholders, and safe and respectful educational communities.
Jefferson Preparatory High School: Tawnya Mecham is the principal of Jefferson Preparatory High School and she makes sure her staff and students are dedicated to partnering with parents in developing young people who are truly successful in every area of life.
Legacy Traditional School: Founded in 2007 by Bill Gregory and Arron Hale, Legacy Traditional School is an “A” Rated school district by the Arizona Department of Education and has been voted the #1 charter school in Arizona by Ranking Arizona. They have several locations all over the valley, with two in the West valley. The president, Nathan Schlink holds all of the schools to the same academic standard of excellence in student's academic study, including music, art, physical education, extracurricular activities and clubs.
Elementary School Districts
Glendale Elementary School District #40: The Glendale Elementary School District has 18 schools all over Glendale, serving over 13,000 students. The Superintendent, Joe Quintana ensures that all of the schools within the district abide by their mission to ensures each student achieves the academic excellence and confidence to embrace a future of higher education leading to a productive and fulfilling life.
Pendergast Elementary School District #92: The District provides excellent educational opportunities for approximately 10,000 preschool through eighth grade students on 12 campuses in Phoenix, Glendale and Avondale. Superintendent, Dr. Lily Matos DeBlieux motto is, "All decisions will be made in the best interests of students".
Peoria Unified School District: Peoria Unified is one of the largest unified school districts in Arizona and prides itself on excelling schools, award-winning teachers, high test scores, career and technical education programs, specialized Signature Programs, free all-day kindergarten and championship athletic programs. The district serves more than 36,000 students in 34 elementary schools, seven high schools and one non-traditional high school. In addition, Peoria Unified is proud to be the first district in the state to receive the prestigious AdvancED Accreditation.
High School Districts
Glendale Union High School District #205: Founded in 1911, Glendale Union High School District serves the communities of Phoenix and Glendale. Comprised of nine high schools, grades 9-12, the urban district enrolls 15,000 students and has approximately 150,000 constituents in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Thanks to the Superintendent, Brian Capistran The Arizona Department of Education has rated Glednale Union High School District as an "A" district. Eight of the nine schools within the district are ranked among the best high schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report and all are part of the College Board’s 2013 National Advanced Placement District of the Year.
