Welcome to downtown Glendale, the heart and soul of the city. Experience our downtown with over 150 unique shops, boutiques, restaurants, and services that are independently owned. Often the person who greets you is the owner or family member.
In May 2017 the Glendale Chamber of Commerce was awarded a Request for Proposal (RFP) from the City of Glendale to become the Downtown Manager and partner with the city to help in redevelopment efforts of downtown. In August of that year, the chamber hired a full-time Director of Downtown Development, Katy Engels.
The Downtown Merchant and Stakeholder Group was created in the fall of 2017 to promote redevelopment and revitalization in downtown. They meet the second Tuesday of the month.
Through collaboration between merchants, property owners, stakeholders, the City of Glendale and the Glendale Chamber of Commerce leadership, this group works to make downtown a vibrant and sustainable business community.
Smaller groups of merchants and stakeholders work together on task sub-committees to make downtown a destination for shoppers and businesses.
